There was originally no standard for what constituted a good project. They just wanted to hire every intern so gave them a random projects in very large teams. Projects had to be bootstrapped, with no resources provided by the company.

The work environment and team members are great to work with. People often help each other and there is cross-platform training that encourages everyone to innovate and participate.
